Hey Everyone,
NEWS ALERT
The record is now written. Now we just
need to record the sucker! Hope to go into the studio in June.
A few shows in the Northwest, as you can see here ~
Hope you're having a great 2010 so
far!
Kinski
We just started a new blog where we
are going to post video that we shoot of our trip to Japan that
starts this week. Lucy just bought a cool new video camera, so
we're going to upload stuff. As it's happening!
Check it here:
Kinski Blog
There is a new Kinski track (well actually it's an old song we
never released) from the WFMU music archive. It's called "Shelley
Winters Overdrive". It's pretty raw and rockin' and can be
found here: Shelley
Winters Overdrive
Looks like we recorded it in 2003 in the WFMU studios.
We're going to Japan again in June and July, touring with Acid
Mothers Temple! Yes. Dates over there. ~
We're STILL in the reheasal space writing the next record. Even
though we don't have a rehearsal space!
There's a new 7" with us and Bardo Pond each doing a Hawkwind
song, that is pretty rad. It's now out of print but we have a
few and you can still find it around. The same songs will be coming
out soon on a Hawkwind tribute cd in the next month or two.
Chris has a radio show that you can listen to on-line. It's called
Ampbuzz and is broadcast on KBCS in Seattle every Thursday night,
11pm - 1am (PST) . It's a lot of psych rock, obscure 60's/70's
stuff, new Finnish stuff, etc. You can listen to it here:

Just click the show box and scroll down to get Ampbuzz right next
to it.
Our new record on Sub Pop is out, and
is entitled "Down Below It's Chaos". The CD package comes in 3
different color versions. The LP has different artwork on the
gatefold and is yet another color from the cds. Sub Pop
also gives you a coupon for a digital download with the vinyl.
Produced and recorded by Randall Dunn (Earth, Sunn O))), Boris)
at his Aleph Studio in Seattle, Down Below It's Chaos is Kinski's
3rd full-length for Sub Pop. With the notable inclusion of 3 songs
with subdued yet urgent vocals courtesy of Chris Martin, the new
record is a kaleidoscopic mix of Kinski's expansive, over-driven
power and intricate beauty. With majestically fuzzed out guitar
tones, spare and pounding rhythms, and swirling sonic textures,
Down Below It's Chaos sums up Kinski's past and propels them into
the ozone. What's left of it that is.
Kinski is a four-piece rock band from Seattle, WA. Their unique
evocation of avant-rock is deconstructionist and heady, but also
emotive and visceral. NME described Kinski as: "Like Sabbath in
a washing machine during a power surge." Comprised of guitarists
Chris Martin and Matthew Reid-Schwartz (Matthew also plays keyboards
and flute), bassist Lucy Atkinson, and drummer Barrett Wilke,
Kinski have toured with Mission of Burma, Comets on Fire, Oneida,
Mono, Acid Mothers Temple, Black Mountain, and most recently opened
a month of dates for Tool on their spring '07 tour.
